Après quarant ans d'absence, je suis retourné dans mon Transylvanie natale, avec un Pegeot, seule. J'ai décidé de profiter et aller me balader sur les chemins où je n'aurait pas pu en train.

Allant de Kolozsvàr (maintenant Cluj-Napoca) vers le village rénomé Torocko (5km des trous juste avant mais cela valait le déplacement) j'ai rencontré cette paysanne. J'ai stopé et demandé la permission de prendre une photo.

C'était une hongroise, âgé commme moi, allant à pied de loin vers les champs pour travailler le blé avec des outils simples.

Elle me dit "que voulez-vous, mon fils a lui aussi une famille et ne peut pas m'aider" donc elle devait travailler encore. Puis ajouta "vous avez de la chance, avoir un taxi!" Ne comprenant même pas l'idée d'une voiture personnelle.

Elle était simple, est prenait son sort et de devoir faire des kilométres chaque jour pour travailler et gagner encore sa vie, normal. A chaque fois que je regarde cette photo, je me rappelle de ma chance d'avoir "un taxi" et de ne plus avoir besoin de travailler. (Je suis 72, un peu comme elle)

"My son has a familly, and can not help me, so I have to work the corn,"; this Hungarian woman from Romania told me on one of the roads of Transylvania.

She had the oldest hat and working instruments and shoes, walking all the way from the faraway village to the corn fields not having even a bicycle like some others did or a cart of course with horse like still others rich peasants had.

Then added : "you are lucky, can go with your taxi." Having a car of course was not even conceveable for her. The image is not a good photo, but she left me with a huge impact and feeling very lucky indeed.

No, she was not really happy to have to work, and to do it walking long distance and with her hand, but she did it, anyway, and explained not complained about; she had to do it, continue it, as long as she still could.

She had no locomotion to go to the cornfields. and his son had familly and his son would (could) not help her too, she explained, without being very convinced that he should not, as probably she did when she was young for her parents..

I went back to Transylvania after many many years of absence. I never lived in the countryside, always in a city, and could imagine even with difficulty how some of them had to live.
