Shakespeare on campus



Sagar Pandit has been engaging in ferocious sword fights for the past week. The 19-year-old Romeo (not of the roadside variety) is preparing to fight Juliet’s cousin in his upcoming performance of a parody of Shakespeare’s works for Ithaka, St. Xavier’s College literary festival, next week.

Kathryn Erskine's award-winning 'Mockingbird' will be nutritious reading for young people

Kathryn Erskine lived near Virginia Tech in the spring of 2007, when a lone gunman shot 33 people. The catastrophe moved her to write "Mockingbird," which last month won the National Book Award for Young People's Literature.
