Question by Desiree: Have Christians been gradually watering down the literalness of their bibles over the ages?

It’s really how literally they interpret their bibles, I mean. And what I mean by “watering down” is, their interpretation of bible stories is gradually becoming less and less literal. Will there come a time in the future where their interpretation of the bible is so watered down that it will be like homeopathy, you know, it will just contain the essence of essential ingredients? And when it reaches this point, will it be just deism?
